Palliative Care Garden, Slings and Bath/Shower Chairs

Recently, you assisted us through the purchase of a fence around the SL4 Palliative Care Garden area, as well as bath chairs, a shower chair, and a number of slings for the mechanical lifts.

The residents are so thankful to each have a sling of their own. In our new COVID-19 world, there is comfort in knowing this personal item is designated for their use.

The bath chairs are used very regularly by a number of residents and they’ve expressed that the chairs are very comfortable and sturdy.

“The staff can move me around so easily when I’m in the bath chair.  It just does the trick,” says one resident.

“It’s so nice to just sit, soak and relax in the tub! It’s not easy to get me in or out of the tub but the chair works very well,” says another resident.

The shower chairs are also greatly appreciated, as they are easier to use for some of our other residents.  We are grateful that residents can choose their preference of a shower or a bath – and having the right equipment available accommodates that.

The fence around the Palliative Care Garden area provides the SL4 residents with a private and secure area outdoors.  One resident said, “We are so happy to be able to visit with our family outside in the fresh air, the new fence gives us so much privacy.”

Others have commented that not only is the fence well-built, but that it doesn’t spoil the beautiful view of the hills. Residents say it makes them feel like they’re in their own backyard! Both residents and staff are so thankful for this area.

On behalf of the staff and residents of the Drumheller SL4 and Long Term Care areas, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for your ongoing financial support.

For all of your generous contributions to our residents’ quality of life, we are truly grateful. We appreciate your continued support.  Thank you!
